For enthusiasts of cultural heritage and water engineering, a one-day workshop titled "Qanats and Fortresses" was held on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at 7:30 AM at the International Center on Qanats and Historic Hydraulic Structures. This workshop, designed to raise public awareness of the significance of Qanats as one of Iran's most valuable technical and historical legacies, as well as their connection to the defensive architecture of catles, was attended by a large number of enthusiasts, experts, and students. During the workshop, distinguished professors and experts presented papers on the history of Qanats in Iran, traditional and modern methods of digging and restoring them, the role of Qanats in agricultural development and providing drinking water, and the relationship between the architecture of catles and water resources and water supply systems. At the end of the workshop, participants were awarded internationally recognized certificates.
