Holding the event of Mehr-e-Ab and Mehrab

The event of Mehr-e-Ab and Mehrab was held on Thursday, October 31, 2024.

On Thursday morning, October 31, 2024, the scientific event pf "Mehr-e- Ab, and Mehrab" was held at the Vaziri Library in Yazd, with the participation of researchers, university professors, and enthusiasts of Islamic history and architecture. This event, organized by the International Center on Qanats and Historic Hydraulic Structures, delved into the vital role of water in shaping and developing Islamic architecture, particularly in the Jameh Mosque of Yazd.

In this ceremony, Dr. Dadbeh, through a comprehensive analysis of the role of water in human civilizations, emphasized the importance of preserving water resources and reviving qanats as a valuable Iranian heritage. He pointed out the need for serious attention to this issue due to climate change and the reduction of water resources.

Dr. Javadianzadeh, the head of the ICQHS, while presenting a comprehensive report on the submitted articles, emphasized the significance of the research conducted in this field. More than 12 scientific research papers were submitted to this conference, focusing mainly on topics such as the close relationship between water and culture, the role of qanats in mosque architecture, and the tourism potential related to water. Dr. Samsar Yazdi and Mr. Janabollahi also delivered their speeches. On the sidelines of this conference, the valuable book "History of Helehabad Rustaq Yazd" by Mr. Hossein Masarat was unveiled.

In the second part ,the Water and Peace tourism route was visited by the guests. Finally, the ceremony concluded at the Chahar Souq Bazaar in Yazd, with the unveiling of giant puppets and the performance of traditional arts.
