Cooperation between the World Heritage Site of Yazd Qanat and the International Center on Qanats and Historic Hydraulic Structures in line with the implementation of the project "Investigation of the impact of climate change on the qanat registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site; A case study of Hassan Abad Moshir Qanat".
In continuation of the implementation of the project "Investigating the effects of climate change on the UNESCO world heritage registered qanats in Iran", the second session of the series of meetings of the training course "Application of remote sensing in climate studies and qanat management" It was held virtually at the "International Center for Qanats and Historic Hydraulic Structures.
On 07/26/2023, in line with conducting field investigations related to the project Investigation of the impact of climate change on UNESCO world heritage registered qanats in Iran, the respectful director of the center along with the experts, the manager, and colleagues of the project, and the manager and informants of Hassan Abad Moshir Qanat visited this qanat.

This webinar was jointly organized by the University of Isfahan and ICQHS on 2 February 2021, which was attended by a number of students and faculty members from across Iran.
Water, Energy and Environmental Engineering Research Unit from University of Oulu, Finland, invited ICQHS to give a lecture on "Hydro-political Organization in the Middle East".
Yazd Regional Water Authority organized a national webinar entitled “Lessons from Indigenous Systems for Participatory Management of Groundwater Resources” on 27 January 2021 that was attended by Iranian experts form ministry of energy and ministry of agriculture.

International Center on Qanats and Historic Hydraulic Structures took the initiative and held a webinar on “Tourism and Water Intangible Heritage” for Iranian tour guides on 18 August 2020, in cooperation with Iran Federation of Tourist Guide Associations (IFTGA).
Throughout history, communities have learned to adapt their culture and living to water availability and scarcity. Accordingly, many indigenous knowledge and technologies have been developed in different parts of the world and especially in arid and semi-arid areas.
International Expert Meeting on “Climate Change Adaptation and Indigenous Knowledge of Water Management” was held in in Yazd, Iran, from 3 to 5 October, 2017.
A delegation made up of 22 Belgian students and their professors paid a visit to UNESCO-ICQHS on 15 July, 2017, and attended a meeting to become familiar with qanat.
A short training course entitled “Qanat, Geography and Society” was held by ICQHS at the University of Yazd on 12 December 2016 in cooperation with the department of geography.
His excellency Mr. Sattar Mahmoudi deputy minister of energy and his excellency Mr. Mohajeri deputy minister of energy for research and human resources visited ICQHS on 9 December 2016, along with their delegation and also the members of Water and Power Industry Integration Council of Yazd province.
The book “Qanats of Qasem Abad and Emamiyeh in Mashhad” authored by Majid Labbaf Khaneiki, Ali Asghar Semsar Yazdi, Amir M. Ebrahimi, Rajab A. Labbaf Khaniki was published by ICQHS in 2016.
8th Governing Board Meeting of ICQHS was held on 5 November 2016 in the city of Yazd, Iran.
A close cooperation between UNESCO-ICQHS (International Center on Qanats and Historic Hydraulic Structures) and the Iranian Organization for Cultural Heritage eventually resulted in the Persian Qanat being put on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
UNESCO-ICQHS's 8th GB Meeting will be held on 5 & 6 November 2016.
